In 2008, brothers Dan and Nathen Furlong set out to do something the UAE had never seen before—bring premium ice cream to the streets in custom-built trucks. Starting with just three vehicles in Dubai, Desert Chill pioneered the food truck scene, earning global press and becoming a symbol of fun across the Emirates.

Through the 2008 financial crisis, Desert Chill didn’t just survive—they expanded. By 2010, they were the first to receive an Abu Dhabi trade license for food trucks, growing their fleet and launching in Al Ain by 2016. That same year, they began developing their own soft-serve range, leading to the opening of the Desert Chill Kitchen in 2019.

Today, every scoop served is made in-house, and the fleet has grown to serve corporate giants, government organisations, and iconic events like Expo 2020. In 2025, Desert Chill launched its e-commerce store, making the UAE’s most wanted ice cream available for home delivery—ensuring that, whether it’s through an ice cream truck or doorstep delivery, everyone can enjoy the experience.
